Updated default-data for road, rail, sea and air freight transport
The 2026 general road and rail transport energy and greenhouse gases data has to a minimum been corrected to reflect some energy efficiency improvements and if the degree of blending of biofuels has changed. Rail data has been slightly adjusted. Sea data updated by RoRo-ship data and added General Cargo ship where both indicate a need to use specific ship data for reasonable accuracy.
The load factors have been left unchanged. The reason for the minimal change is that a major adjustment is expected in 2027.
Within NTM, fossil fuel data is currently being analyzed as different sources indicate significant differences. The same is valid for the mix of biomass which influences emissions for renewable fuels. In addition, CountEmission EU will present data that is likely to affect the data that should be used. Hence the 2026 data is to a large extent kept unchanged.
