The total number of people carried by the vehicle, usually an average or typical number for a specific set of conditions (area, service provider, system, etc). Not to be confused with the maximum capacity of the vehicle since the passenger occupancy reflects an average or typical load. The default value is the average load for all types of buses, except long distance coaches, in Sweden. This value should be adjusted to reflect specific conditions where the occupancy is known to be higher or lower, e.g. 7-8 in rural areas or for services with low utilization levels, and up to 15-20 for buses with high utilization levels in urban areas.
